Scotland Part 3: Highlands and Loch Ness

Today we joined a guided tour of the Scottish highlands and Loch Ness.  The day started early again because we were travelling pretty far north by bus.

Although we spent about 8 hours in a bus, we got to hop out for some amazing views of the Highlands.

Finally we made it to Loch Ness.  We were at the Loch for about three hours and it was the most miserable, rainy, windy, and cold three hours of our lives.  Luckily, the clouds parted for a couple minutes once and we snapped some decent pictures.

It never really stopped raining today.  Tomorrow we are flying to Dublin and taking a train to the west coast.  Let’s hope the weather is nicer in Ireland.

  1. this is sister jules writing…too bad it was bad weather! you should have taken a dip so you could have found the loch ness monster! jake will be highly disappointed… However, looks like you are having lots of fun!!

  2. Don’t they have umbrellas over there?! :). Hope the rest of your trip is reasonably dry! And vey glad to hear that you have been on vacation for a week and finally drank a beer! Remember there is more to Europe than museums, castles and libraries; you should go to a fun restaurant or walk through a local shopping district – you never know what you will find! 🙂
