From canals to seas we continued! We have arrived in Cinque-Terre. First things first, we roamed around town until we were able to find our hostel. Little did we know we would have to hike up a mountain to get there! Eventually, we made it and got settled in. Next, we went to the coast to see what the city had to offer. We found some giant rocks that we wanted to play on that snaked around in the sea. We felt like little kids again! 🙂
The next day was a big one! It was sailing time!! Unfortunately, Justin was not able to attend again because he had to work…busy beaver! The weather seemed a bit gloomy in the morning, but much to our appreciation it cleared up and was quite a nice day! We sailed the coast and were able to see the cities that lined it. Also, we saw some military stuff and other castle-looking things that our skipper explained to us, but I don’t remember the details anymore. We were able to take a dip in the water in the afternoon. It was very salty water! When we got out it was caked on our skin so we had specks of white all over us. Fortunately, we were able to rinse off with a shower type thing on the boat.
After sailing, we went out to eat. Julie found the best pizza she has tasted in her 23 years of life!
The next day, we hiked! Many of the coastal paths were closed because of a land slide which took out 3 of the 5 cities. Therefore, we were forced to hike the back country and see vineyards and such.
